As pastors, we love the folks in our church. We see many of you volunteering and serving and sacrificing for Jesus--your labor does our hearts good and it gives us energy to continue on. Thank you!!!
I have to admit, I am terrible at celebrating and thanking folks. This is not good and I do not want to continue in this pattern. I/we want to thank you. In the past, we have tried parties to do this --they bombed. In the past, we have tried to send emails and thank you notes to individuals and this was better but we would like to do more. So, how can we show our thanks to you? How can we show you how much you have done for the Kingdom of God? How can we stand beside you and encourage you to continue on? _________________ Pastor Tyler |

what if there was a volunteer whose whole position of service was to make sure that volunteers were recognized? maybe (s)he could work with Courtney to stay aware of what's going on and then be responsible for sending emails of thanks/writing thank you notes. does that make sense? that way, people can be individually acknowledged.
or... hm. I'll keep thinking! |

I think the main thing is to make sure we are communicated with effectively. Matt Stevens is an excellent example of this as he consistently sends emails to each band and gives us updates and plenty of time to get things done. I don't know how it is in other areas, but that makes a HUGE difference to me as a volunteer because I know that my time is valued. _________________ *Andrea* |
