Scripture teaches that the absence of discipline is wrath. We all need spiritual discipline. Discipline should happen when we are knowingly or unknowingly out of line with God’s purposes. Discipline helps restore us to a right standing with God and man. It is ultimately the responsibility of the elders to oversee and guide your lives, so ultimately it is an elder’s responsibility to lead the effort of bringing healthy spiritual discipline into your lives. However, we are all responsible for our brothers as well, to help bring them back through restoration.

In order for this to strengthen in 2008 we’ll:

- Ask for more honesty with where your lives are.
- Pay closer attention to some clear indicators of where your hearts are (i.e. Financial Giving, Serving, etc.)
- Pray for discernment to see where discipline is needed in the more hidden areas of life.
- We’ll be quick to move in situations that require spiritual discipline
