Raleigh Easter Downtown
Folks, we’d love for you to attend. If you have no idea what Raleigh Easter is, follow this link (www.raleigheaster.com) and you’ll get all the information you need. It’s going to be a great way for us as a church to love the city. Check it out! We need lots of volunteers, so don’t be shy, come on down! (Email erika@vintage21.com to get on the volunteer list)
Journey 101: Gospel Class
We’re making lots of effort to promote our Spiritual Development Classes this year. As followers, it’s important that we continue developing our understanding of the Gospel, so we can better know, live and build it. April 7th begins the 6-week study of the Gospel, being co-led by Joel Fruits and Rob Davis. Without a doubt, whether you are a new or old follower, you could benefit from taking this class. In the words of my favorite redneck, Git-Er-Done.
What is Acts29
One of Vintage21’s strongest desires is to plant churches. According to Scripture we know that the Church is the most effective tool used to bring the message of Jesus to a lost people. Because of that, we want to join with an effective church planting resource to make sure we are being the most effective with our Church Planting resources as possible. Though we don’t align with all of their distinctives, we do believe they are incredibly effective at planting Jesus-Centered Churches. If you want more information on Acts29 or what Vintage21’s partnership with Act29 looks like, just drop me an email and I’ll be happy to respond.
Organizational Structure
Prayers please. We have begun the slow process of looking at all aspects of Vintage21 and asking how we can be more effective as a church to reach more people for Jesus. One of the avenues we’ve discovered is that the organizational structure needs some work and clarification. Pray for us as we begin tackling this endeavor.
V21 Productions
WOW. Did you know that we have shows booked almost every week in our Service Facility? It’s become an incredible resource for hosting a wide variety of talent from the city, state and country. Would you believe me if I told you that we’ve even had wresting? It’s true! Ok, so “why?” you ask? We are so thankful for our building. God brought it our way in perfect timing. We want to use the building to show people Jesus. When we open the building up to outside shows, it gives us a chance to show hospitality to an entire group of people we wouldn’t have otherwise had. This is biblical. We want to do with our facility what we’re supposed to do in our lives. We’re supposed to invite lost people into our homes and show them “hospitality,” with no ulterior motive but to love them, feed them, and care for them. Our hope is that after they’ve realized we care, they’ll ask why…
Trip to Seattle
I’m happy to report, “Seattle is there!” Heh, Rob and I are back safe, after what I would describe as an incredible trip. God has opened up the doors and given Vintage21 resources, through that trip, that will be invaluable in helping us in our mission to reach people. Thank you for your prayers. Apart from a few bumps and a serious allergy attack, we are back safely. Our wives thank you too. If you’re curious to know more details about the trip, grab Rob or I when you see us and we’ll be glad to share.
Missional
This word?!, what is this word?! The word “missional” is actually a verb. It means to be “on mission”. If I call you on the phone and tell you I just broke my leg, and need you to get me to the hospital, you now have a mission - “Get NATE to the HOSPITAL!!!” Hopefully, (not assuming anything here) you’re going to put your pedal to the metal and get me to the hospital. Being missional is the same thing, only it’s being “on mission.” Jesus has told us that there are a million people who need to hear about Him so they don’t go to hell. If you are missional, you carry the message of Jesus with you everywhere you go, into all circumstances, so that someone might accept the Good News.
Invite Your Friends
We don’t say this enough. Invite your lost friends. Our services serve many purposes, but here are two of the main ones. The first is to gather to hear the proclaimed Word of God, also called, “The Gospel”. Followers, Doubters, and Seekers all need this. Followers need it for maturity in faith, while doubters and seekers need it for salvation. This is done through the preaching of the Bible. The second is for us as a church body to worship. Followers, Doubters and Seekers all need this too. Followers need it as an avenue of reverence and celebration, recognizing what God has miraculously done. Doubters and Seekers need it so they are able to see the transformation of God in His people, which is something God uses to call them to salvation. So, the next time you think about it, be intentional and invite your lost friend.
Have a great week, and again, any thought or questions about something that needs communicating, let us know and we’ll get right on it!
Blessings,
Pastor Nate
