This Letter:

We want to communicate with you. There is a never-ending stream of information that comes into the church that needs to be communicated. This letter will get sent out each week to inform, update and encourage you with the day-to-day goings on of the church. We’re going to work hard this year to increase communication with you and it’s my hope that this letter will help serve that purpose. Ok, so you want to know what’s going on, let me encourage you to read this weekly, as it will be one of the avenues we implement to refine our communication with you.

New Forum

Ok, we’ve added another avenue for communication! We’ve created a internet forum. For those of you who don’t know what a forum, here’s how wikipedia defines it: “An Internet forum is a web application for holding discussions and posting user generated content”. Every week, one or several of the Pastors will take time during their schedule to post information that will be helpful in communicating with you, the fine folks at Vintage21. Copy this link, and it will take you directly there:
vintage21.netfreehost.com/

Journey Classes:

All right Folks, we promised you a year of development and a year of Health. One of the avenues we hope to help with that is through our Journey Classes. We’re beefing up the curriculum, hiring outside teachers and pushing the need to jump in and take a class or two, or three. It’s really easy for those inside the church to bypass these classes because there is a sense that you are already in, and we’ll, you think you’ll eventually learn everything there is to know just by attending Sunday Services and your Home Group. - Stop reading this post right now, and go to the Journey Class section of the forum and take a look. Then come back and finish this post. ---- See, all of the classes are designed to help develop you in your journey of faith. Why not sign up and get involved. To register for a class, connect with Hao Lieu at monkeyhaowie@gmail.com. He’d love to get you registered for the spring semester of classes.

New Staff Hire

Because Vintage21 has grown exponentially over the past couple of years, our need for staff continues to increase. We are still looking for the right person to come on board and help us keep track of the finances. We’ve advertised the Book Keeper job on the website and are still actively pursuing someone to fill this position. If you are interested and want more information, follow this link: vintage21.com/serve/employment/ or e-mail me at nate@vintage21.com and I’ll correspond with you about the position. Stay tuned to find out who we’ve hired!

Elder Growth

We need continual prayer. God has been gracious with us in this new year and put it on the hearts of several men to begin the Elder process. We ask that you would pray with us and for us, that God would give us wisdom as we begin to examine the lives of these men, to see if they are in fact called to serve Vintage21 in this capacity. Stay tuned, when the time is right, and we’ll publicly announce when an Elder Candidate has begun the Process. Thanks for Praying with us.

Owners Night Push

As the 5th requirement in Ownership, this is something we shouldn’t have to push, but you should joyfully commit to ☺ For that reason, we want to make sure that we’re continually developing these nights, to help make them a joy and not a burden. Here’s how; we are bringing in gifted teachers to fill owners nights with excellent teaching. Additionally, we will continue to pursue excellence in our own ability to teach . We simply ask that you commit to coming. Search around the forum and you’ll see the schedule for 2008 Owners nights. Join us.

Speakers This Year

God has given us favor with some incredibly gifted teachers who are willing to come a use their gifts to bless us. We will use them in a variety of formats including Sunday Mornings when Tyler is away, on owners nights to help develop us, and through the journey classes to continue to refine us as followers . Here’s the list so far of Speakers we’ve invited to teach us this year:
Reid Monaghan - powerofchange.org/blog/
- Will be speaking on a Sunday morning for Tyler

Dr. John S. Hammett - sebts.edu/faculty/faculty_directory/ViewFaculty.cfm?BioID=46
- Will be teaching a 4-week class on Theology during the summer and will be covering an Owners Night on the Study of Theology.

Dr. Alvin Reid - sebts.edu/faculty/faculty_directory/ViewFaculty.cfm?BioID=66
- Has expertise in Missionality, and will be teaching a class and an owners night in 2008.

This list of teachers will continue to grow and we’ll continue to let you know when we’ve added more. Please continue to pray that God give us favor with just the right gifted teachers to help us develop this year as a church.

Exit:

Thanks for Reading. If you feel like there is something we need to make known, please e-mail me and we’ll do our best to make sure it gets communicated.

Blessings,
Pastor Nate.
